Our twin Montbazon lies some 230km south of Paris and 10km south of the city of Tours in the valley of the River Indre, just south of the Loire Valley. This small picturesque town was home to the writer Balzac, a French literary artist who produced a vast number of novels and short stories collectively called La Comédie Humaine (The Human Comedy). He is generally considered to be one of the greatest novelists of all time.
The Town Twinning association believes that total immersion in French life and culture is the best way of ensuring proficiency in the language. Opportunities for cultural exchanges are increasingly rare and Town Twinning provides a unique opportunity for the entire family to experience the total immersion of a cultural exchange together. If a family member is studying French, twinning could just add an extra advantage to both their verbal conversation and cultural understanding.
